Will I incur any charges?
No — our valuation service is free. We do not charge executors or families for advice, inspections or valuations even if we do not buy the vehicle. If we do buy the car, any agreed fees or costs will be included in the written offer so there are no surprise deductions.
Do I need to describe the car to you?
A short description is helpful — registration, general condition, known faults and any special history. That lets us give a quick indication of value. For a firm offer we usually request photos or arrange a short inspection so our lead valuer can confirm condition and any special features.
How do I get paid for the car?
Payment is arranged before collection and is typically made by bank transfer on the day of collection. We confirm payment details in writing and provide a receipt. If you prefer an alternative secure method, tell us and we’ll accommodate where possible.
Can I sell the car to another buyer?
Yes — you are free to accept any offer. We provide a written offer and a clear window to accept. If you choose another buyer, simply let us know and we’ll close the enquiry without charge.
What if the car does not run?
We buy non-runners and vehicles in any condition. Our valuation will reflect the condition and any recovery costs, and if you accept our offer we arrange insured collection using our transport team.
What if you decide not to purchase the car?
If we decide not to proceed we’ll explain why and outline other options — for example auction, specialist dealers or recommended local buyers. Our initial advice is free and impartial.
Can I sell the car before probate is granted?
In many cases yes — executors or those with legal authority can sell. If probate or letters of administration are required, we explain the paperwork needed and can delay collection until the legal documents are in place. We always advise on the safest route for your situation.
Do you buy classic cars and motorcycles?
Yes — we buy classic and modern cars and motorcycles. Classics are assessed for provenance, condition and market demand; our lead valuer will explain how any rarity or history affects value.
How do I complete the paperwork and ownership changeover?
We guide you through the paperwork. We provide a clear checklist of documents required (V5 logbook, proof of authority, ID) and complete the transfer with you at collection. If documents are missing we explain acceptable alternatives and next steps.
Am I contracted to sell the car to you once I get an offer?
No — a written offer is just that: an offer. You are free to accept or decline. We will confirm the offer validity period in writing so you have time to consider your options.
What if I cannot find the registration document?
If the V5 is missing we explain the replacement process and acceptable alternatives for transfer. We can still provide an indicative valuation but collection may be delayed until paperwork is resolved.
